WHO IS "Reshan?" Dr. Yuri N. Reshanov, PhD ("Reshan") was born in St. Petersburg, Russia in 1949. At age 10 he moved to Moscow and began his training as a professional artist. His talent was such that he was accepted to the Moscow Art College at the tender age of 15! He continued his education at Surikov Art School where he completed his doctorate. He was a full professor of art at Moscow Art College before immigrating to the United States in an effort to share his love of art through instruction and through creation of new and exciting pieces. "Reshan's" works are displayed throughout Europe and the United States. His painting of New Harmony Barns is in the permanent collection of the Evansville Museum of Arts & Sciences. "Reshan" continues restoration of many precious icons and works of art throughout the United States, Europe, and Russia. "Reshan" works in a variety of mediums including (but not limited to) watercolor, oil, tempera, and pastel. Several of his works are life-sized and larger, and subject matter ranges from fine art portraiture, land and sea scapes to murals and beyond. When not creating new masterpieces, "Reshan" shares his talent with many gifted students. He instructs in a group atmosphere as well as one-on-one for those wanting more intense study.
